Pre-Swim Team: Get Ready to Compete!

What is Pre-Swim Team?

Pre-Swim team is a fun, mildly competitive bridge between advanced swim lessons and traditional/High School swim team or Channel Cats program.

CBRC swim lessons are divided into five categories: Jelly Fish, Star Fish, Sea Horse, Manta Ray, and Shark- with Shark being the most advanced swim class we offer. Pre-Swim Team is another level above that, with the pre-requisite that all students must pass Shark level lessons before advancing to Pre-Swim Team.

Like our other swim classes, Pre-Swim Team is available on weekdays and weekends. The weekday class takes place Mondays-Thursdays and features much more pool time; but kids will still get the basic experience if only taking the Saturday class. The sessions are three weeks long (four Saturdays for weekend classes). Session II begins next week, July 8th/10th and still has a few spaces available. The Pre-Swim Team competitive season starts this month!

What can you expect of Pre-Swim Team? This class includes laps, drills, relays, diving, and a little bit of racing. Kids coming into this class have the skills down- now they get to have fun with those skills and learn how to compete in a low-pressure environment. Pre-Swim Team helps kids work through any competition angst BEFORE they’re standing at pool edge for their first big HS Swim Meet.
